USC hires John Hawthorne from Princeton; he’ll remain full-time at Oxford

Hawthorne (Metaphysics, Epistemology, Philosophy of Language) is the Waynflete Professor of Metaphysical Philosophy at Oxford, but since Spring 2009 has been teaching six weeks per year at Princeton. That visiting appointment will end this spring. Starting next fall, he will be teaching 10 weeks per year at USC. ProPhilosophy has confirmed this with Scott Soames, department chair at USC.
