Ruth Barcan Marcus remembered

ProPhi noted the passing of Ruth Barcan Marcus, and linked to a few obituaries. Tamar Szabó Gendler (Yale) sent out a notice for a memorial, which was held on Saturday at Yale. Andrew Bailey (Yale-NUS) sends along a link to some pictures and a copy of the program. The event was also recorded on video, and ProPhi will note when that recording is available.

Those who were in attendance are encouraged to post their reflections in the comments and at Ruth Marcus Remembered.

One great line was from Fred Feldman’s remembrances: “I never knew Aristotle. No matter. I knew Ruth Marcus.”

I enjoyed the way the event ended, with the playing of an audio recording from Ruth Barcan Marcus herself. I hope the video recording of the whole thing will be made available online!
