The RCMP was watching Sartre

According to this Globe and Mail article, newly released documents state that the RCMP started taking notes on Sartre in the early ’50s, and it came to a head in 1971 when Sartre was slated to visit Quebec to “protest the trials of people arrested under the War Measures Act.” He never ended up visiting Quebec.
