APA Nondiscrimination Policy

Item 13 on p.40 of the latest APA proceedings (May 2012) reads:

The Board passed a motion amending the APA Nondiscrimination Statement to disallow JFP advertising by institutions that would not commit themselves to complying with the Nondiscrimination Statement.

Discussion of related topics (including a letter from the APA Committee on the Status of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People in the Profession) can be found in the same issue from pp.107-15. APA members can find the Proceedings here.

The former policy was to put a mark next to ads by institutions that aren’t in compliance with the Nondiscrimination Statement.

Edit: There is a discussion of this over at NewAPPS.
